Since the partition of the Indian subcontinent, which was hastily decided in 1947, Kashmir has become one of the most militarized regions in the world, and the scene of numerous wars between India and Pakistan.  Between 2017 and 2024, Cédric Gerbehaye documented both sides of the Line of Control, a border which is not internationally recognized, in the heart of a mountainous region characterized by geopolitical complexity and cultural diversity.
